Autumn is here!

Autumn is here! What skin care routine should you follow?

Does your skin appear flaky and bland? Seasonal changes are probably to blame since they cause dead skin cells to accumulate, which then traps oil and germs beneath the skin's surface and increases acne outbreaks.

So it's time to incorporate a new skincare regime into your daily routine. For the finest skincare routine, continue reading.

The essential skin care routine

1.Cleansing

The first step in any skincare routine is cleansing. Before using any other products, the upper layers of the skin must be cleansed.

Any milk or cream cleanser can be used as they are gentle enough to be used throughout the year. Drier skin types, however, may occasionally benefit from using richer balms or oils to help replenish lost lipids and lessen flakiness. Always wash your face with lukewarm water after using a cleanser.

1. Moisturizing

You're likely to experience even more dryness as autumn transits into winter. When the temperature drops, using a good moisturizer becomes even more crucial as it forms a layer over the skin and prevents water from evaporating. You can even use leave-on moisturizing masks and balms for an extra moisture boost.

  1. Exfoliation

Our skin becomes lustreless, dry and dull in the autumn. As a result, the skin may require exfoliation in the form of scrubs, microdermabrasion or peels to make it look young and vibrant.

Exfoliating frequently promotes cellular renewal and eliminates dead skin cells that could prevent moisturizers or serums from being absorbed by the skin.

When choosing a scrub, go for one that contains natural exfoliants like bamboo, clay, or pineapple. Ensure that it matches your skin type.

4. Sunscreen application

Winter and autumn sun exposure can be just as dangerous as summer exposure. Consequently, you must include a broad spectrum, water resistant sunscreen in your skincare routine along with physical protection.

  1. Serums as prescribed by the dermatologist

Using a correct serum according to the skin type is very important. Hyaluronic acid serum contains a natural humectant, hyaluronic acid which binds to water molecules in the atmosphere, pulls them down to your skin, and retains them there; thus hydrating the dull and dry skin.

While following the skin care regimen, we always forget to take care of our lips.

As winter pops in, lips become extra dry and chapped. Always use nourishing lip balms with spf to keep lips hydrated, nourished and to prevent them from pigmentation.

  1. Balanced diet and exercise

Taking a balanced diet is not only good for your skin but also for your body. Fruits and vegetables like pumpkin, and green vegetables provide extra nourishment and help in detoxification.

Hence, when your body is fresh and clean, you get that automatic glow on your face.

Consuming at least 2-4 liters of water each day is essential to keep the skin hydrated.
