Treatment at Skinfinity Derma
Our approach to acne treatment in Gurgaon is personalized and comprehensive. We begin with a detailed skin analysis to understand the underlying causes of your acne. Our dermatologists then create a customized treatment plan that may include topical medications, oral prescriptions, chemical peels, laser therapy, or a combination of these methods.
Some of the most common treatments we offer for include:
- Topical medications- These are creams, gels, serums which decrease new acne formation, reduce the size of existing acne, and also work on redness and marks associated with acne. These can be a combination of compounds like clindamycin, adapalene, benzoyl peroxide or single therapy.
- Oral medications- These capsules work by internally reducing the acne forming tendency, and any hormonal fluctuations, if present. Our dermatologist can start the medicines at the first visit itself, or may require certain tests first.
- Chemical Peels- At Skinfinity Derma, we do various types of peels, which work on acne, post-acne redness and marks, and even scars.
- Medi-facials- Various medi-facials done at Skinfinity Derma aim to reduce the inflammation in skin, reduce the sebaceous gland activity, and soothe the skin. Customised serums used in these facials reduce the acne, redness and pigmentation.
- Acne scar treatment- Various scar treatments are done at Skinfinity Derma, ranging from microneedling technology to lasers. The type and number of treatment is guided by the dermatologist based on the duration, severity and types of scars.
- Injections- These injections are given in some nodular or cystic acne, to reduce the inflammation and heal them fast.

There are several treatments available that claim to cure acne permanently. These include topical treatments such as benzoyl peroxide or retinoids, oral medications like antibiotics or birth control pills, and even laser therapy. However, it's important to note that there is no one-size-fits-all solution when it comes to treating acne as everyone's skin is different.
While there are countless treatments available to clear up breakouts, it's important to also consider the role that diet plays in managing acne. Certain foods contain nutrients that can help keep skin healthy and reduce inflammation, which is a major contributor to acne.
One type of food that has been shown to improve acne is fatty fish like salmon and mackerel. These fish are high in omega-3 fatty acids, which have anti-inflammatory properties. Inflammation is a key factor in the development of acne, so consuming more omega-3s may help reduce redness and swelling associated with breakouts.
Another food group that has been linked to improved skin health is fruits and vegetables. Specifically, those high in vitamin C like oranges, strawberries, bell peppers, and broccoli.
Water is an essential element in our bodies and plays a crucial role in maintaining overall health. It helps to hydrate the skin, flush out toxins from the body, regulate body temperature and support healthy organ function. However, while drinking water may not be a direct cure for acne, it can help to indirectly improve its symptoms by keeping the body hydrated and reducing inflammation.
Dehydration can lead to dryness and irritation of the skin- both of which can exacerbate acne.
Some people believe that wearing makeup can lead to clogged pores and breakouts, while others argue that it doesn't impact the skin at all.
The truth is somewhere in the middle. Makeup can cause acne when applied incorrectly or if you wear it for extended periods without removing it properly. Oil-based products are more likely to clog pores than water-based ones, so choosing your foundation formula matters. Additionally, if you don't clean your brushes frequently enough or use expired products, bacteria can accumulate on them and transfer onto your face causing breakouts.
