Chicken Pox

Chicken pox infection or varicella infection, is a viral infection caused by Varicella Zoster Virus. It is an infectious disease, which is usally seen in children, but can also affect adults of any age group. There is development of small, fluid filled rashes all over the body, with fever, cold, and intense itching.

The symptoms take around 5-7 days to appear once you get in contact with an infected individual, after which there is onset of high-grade fever, with rashes in a few days. The rashes initially increase in number to involve rest of the body, and then slowly start increasing, with disappearance of fever. It takes around 7-10 days for the infection to subside, but complete disappearance of rashes take time.
